been uber busy lately cuz of celebrations and all! had relatives from taiwan over yest night which was pretty fun, cuz for once everyone had to speak hokkien, me included =p

NUS law interview was... uh.. cool. Ask me abt it if u want the details, but at least it cemented my resolve in going to cambridge after all. Though i still have the written test tmr. ugh.

think my mum really enjoyed herself which is great cuz its mostly her side of the family that came

Anyway on a sadder note, we've returned Captain to the SPCA cuz he turned out to be a human biting maniac that ripped apart a powerpoint and caused my house to shortcircuit. im amazed he's still alive..

anyhow.. i think im ready to be on my own for awhile..

i read tuesdays with morrie yest. i guess i agree with mitch albom that everyday we should ask the little yellow bird on our shoulder, " is today the day i leave the world? have i done everything i want to do or should? " i wonder that sometimes..

but mostly i guess i look around and i see people who haven't learnt to love , people who havent learnt to let love in. which is really perhaps what life is about.. learning the things we havent so that when we finally reach paradise we'll be perfect in God's image.

through the years, i had thought i'd learnt to love. but isnt loving someone doing so wholeheartedly without any expectations? without any thought for yourself? then again, isnt that plain foolishness

I've been really busy lately =) met up with a long lost friend yesterday and i had a splendid time catching up and being updated on his life yest over dinner at ajisen ramen.. yum yum.. i love jap and finally ive an occasion to bring out my rusty french as i attempt to give him lessons.. oh thanks for the drink btw.. appletini was pretty good...(one of the students at bartley bartends there apparently *gasps) il faut que vous m'excusez pour mon mauvais francais. j'ai presque oublie tout ce que j'al appris. quelle horreur!

oh and selamat pagi! i had my first malay lesson yesterday. its pretty fun esp when my students try to converse with me! haha ive said khabar baik in response to apa khabar probably five times today! lol.. hope that means i'll improve in no time ! im actually kinda having fun in bartley which is good cuz i'll be there till june..

met up with jingqi today and we took some really pretty neoprints! pretty cuz of us of course =p not the machine.. it was just silly cuz though we could understand the instructions which we were in chinese.. but hell that was utterly useless cuz the machine refused to obey and commands so the words may as well have been in jap!

family day at bartley was also an experience! =) finally got to see for real the family backgrounds the kids come from and even took a pic with maymay and some of em check it out! the tall guy learnt the piano all by himself and he really is a music prodigy.. not to mention a linguist! lol.. guess the students here are gifted.. perhaps not in a conventional way.. but perhaps that's what makes them stand out =) the only school in singapore where students smile everyday and everyone dares to be themselves.. its cool in its very own way

chilled out with sharon and jan at bugis cafe today =) the food there is cheap and good. $2 for spagh and 0.50cents for a cup of coke.. it was truly the epitomy of shopping madness.. i bought a green and white retro halter neck top! complete with white hoop earrings and a white mini.. i really do look like something outta some movie like austin powers *gasps... but retro is in and so are pearls!

Meet the two year old lab, Captain =) he lives to please. I guess it comes with having been abandoned at a tender age, probably scarred him for life. He even picks up the brushes we leave around and stacks them in a pile in a corner... Unbelievable.. The dog is neater than I am!
